The existence and persistence of the landscapes portrayed in the Aquapark series offer the possibility of observing the imprint of tourism development, specifically, a residual example of the speculative urban planning model characteristic of certain types of holiday regions composed of all kinds of tourist complexes. The power of the decontextualized image and the trace of a past linked to leisurely, if somewhat decaying, memories become the perfect setting to exemplify the development of the last decade. Slides, pools, cafés, sunbathing areas… these sites, through their absence, reveal themselves and provide us with spaces for meditation and contemplation, modern temples of reflection.
